Michelle Obama is one of the most classy people in politics. I cannot add words. What a powerful statement. Michelle Obama should run for president.

Because he just makes things up.
In the second debate, he said that all rich people use massive tax deductions, like the carry forward loss write-off, and he specifically named Warren Buffett and George Soros.
Buffett took exception. He issued a statement that he paid federal income taxes every year since 1944 when he was 13 years old.
Buffet, with an estimated fortune of over $65 billion, is about 20 times as rich as Trump, at $3.7 billion, according to Forbes.
My 2015 return shows adjusted gross income of $11,563,931. My deductions totaled $5,477,694, of which allowable charitable contributions were $3,469,179. All but $36,037 of the remainder was for state income taxes.
— Warren Buffett
More poignantly, Buffett says that his total charitable contributions for the year were $2,858,057,970, of which “more than $2.85 billion were not taken as deductions and never will be.”
To put it into perspective, Buffett, in 2015 alone, gave away 75% as much money as Trump’s entire net worth. In one year alone. And he didn’t get a deduction for it.
Trump, in his defensive statement, just made things up. And Buffett wasn’t having any of it.
And neither am I.
I shamelessly stole this post from a good friend on Facebook. He says it better than I ever could:
This may be my last such post, but I feel morally obligated to add this. Trump is a disgrace to all hard working people who are honest, pay their fair share of taxes, and respect the women in their life (and all genders and races in general). How any reasonable, intelligent person with a conscience could support and vote for him is beyond comprehension. He does not represent me, veterans, small business owners, Democracy, the Constitution and most certainly not the middle cla…ss. He does not address or have an acceptable plan for any of the real issues facing the country. He makes mindless insults to anyone who gets in his way. He seems to be more concerned with beauty pageant participants than real issues. His lewd remarks make him a horrible role model for our children. Real men do not indulge in his type of language. He in every way represents and is a part of the actual corrupt establishment – the wealthy power mongers who pull the puppet strings of Congress. He is the opposite of everything my parents taught me to be, as a Christian, as a gentleman, and as a caring human being.

And since I agree with every word he says here, I can’t vote for Trump.
Because he lies. All. The. Time.
I don’t lie, and I don’t want my president to lie.
Trump’s own lawyers meet with him in pairs because he tends to “forget” what he said in a meeting. Seriously?
Here is a link to hundreds of pages of court documents related to the Trump Taj Mahal bankruptcy. Enjoy!
A man shows his true character when he does not think he is observed.
“As a husband and father, I was offended by the words and actions described by Donald Trump in the eleven-year-old video released yesterday. I do not condone his remarks and cannot defend them,” Pence said in a statement. “I am grateful that he has expressed remorse and apologized to the American people. We pray for his family and look forward to the opportunity he has to show what is in his heart when he goes before the nation tomorrow night.”
I expected that Pence was offended, and I am almost surprised that he is stating it. That poor man has the hardest job in the world right now. How do you deal with this?
He said that Trump has expressed remorse. Seriously? Does anyone believe that Trump can even conceive of a thing like remorse? His recorded statements reveal what kind of man he is. Feigned remorse isn’t changing the man.
It’ll be interesting to see what is in his heart tonight, you have that right, Mr. Pence!
Trump, before apologizing, wrote it off as locker room banter. Sorry, but what I heard was not locker room banter. I have been in locker rooms. Locker room banter is something different than what we heard Trump say.
I heard Trump say loud and clear that he has no regard for the dignity of women, which are 50% of the world’s population. I also heard him say that be believes that since he is a “star” he can do anything he wants.
A man shows his true character when he does not think he is observed. The CEO that picks up a scrap of paper on the way to the elevator. The factory worker that gives a dollar to the panhandler by the red light. All the little things people do when they are not observed show their true character. And there is the rub: Trump didn’t think he was being recorded when he let loose. We saw the man as he is.
We want to make a man like that President of the United States?
Are we all insane?
I don’t want my president to be ridiculed by the entire world as a groper.
He says that Bill Clinton said far worse. Well, I didn’t like what Bill Clinton did in the 1990s either, but that’s now 20 years past, and he is no longer president.
John F. Kennedy was an obnoxious womanizer who had pretty much daily “pieces of ass.” But that was 50 years ago and I wasn’t paying attention then.
In addition, Trump’s verbal misconduct in a workplace has a name: Sexual Harassment. I don’t want to know that my president is a proud groper and sexual harasser.
There are only five men alive today who know what it’s like to be president. Those are Carter, Bush 41, Clinton, Bush 43 and Obama. All five not only do not support Trump, they vehemently, vocally and enthusiastically warn us that Trump is the wrong man for the job. I trust the judgment of those five men more than anyone else in the world on this subject.
Therefore I can’t vote for Trump.
I don’t want my president to get rich off the office.
Presidents, for the most part, get rich after they leave office. They can give speeches at $200,000 a pop. They are world-famous and invited to board memberships and business deals all the time. That comes with rewards.
However, in Russia, for instance, Putin is reputed to be the richest man in the country. How did that happen? He was an intelligence officer, he came from a middle-class family. Putin’s mother was a factory worker and his father was a conscript in the Soviet Navy. Your guess is as good as mine.
History is riddled with leaders of countries who became very rich. Muammar Gaddafi was a colonel in his country’s military, yet he ended up a billionaire.
Nursultan Nazarbayev, the president of Kazakhstan, is worth $1 billion. Go figure.
Mohammed VI, the King of Morocco, is one of Morocco’s leading businessmen, worth about $2.5 billion.
Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, the King of Saudi Arabia, is worth $18 billion. All his cash comes from oil. He has a horrible human rights record. Yet, we support his regime and we are tight with his country.
The Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah, is worth $20 billion. Do you even know where Brunei is? It’s a tiny country on an island east of Singapore. The sultan is one of the wealthiest men in the world. He reputedly has the world’s largest private residence with 1,800 rooms, and flies his own 747, just like the American president.
The richest world leader, with $30 billion, is Bhumibol Adulyadej, the King of Thailand. Have you ever heard of him? Can you pronounce his name? Well, here he is with Barack Obama:
Now let’s think about adding to this exclusive club Donald J. Trump, maker of real or imaginary billions even before he is in office. While he’s not likely to put American tax dollars directly into his pocket, I wonder what would happen when we send American tax dollars and military favors to these illustrious world leaders?
Might they be buying hotels and gold courses? Or real estate in New York.
Might they?
We believe in American democracy, in which individuals from various parties of different ideological stripes can advance their ideas and compete for the affection of voters. But Trump is not a man of ideas. He is a demagogue, a xenophobe, a sexist, a know-nothing, and a liar. He is spectacularly unfit for office, and voters—the statesmen and thinkers of the ballot box—should act in defense of American democracy and elect his opponent.
The post below is from a blog I follow and it discusses a veteran’s point of view of service. This veteran went to Vietnam. He comments on Trump’s recent statement about “strong” individuals and PTSD. I cannot add to this myself. Please read his post.
September, 1967 I somewhat apprehensively boarded a plane which would deliver me and many others to Fort Jackson, South Carolina. My service with the US Army had just begun. Myself and so many others had and still make similar trips. The Vietnam War was raging, street protests were a daily occurrence and the military draft […]
I want my president to be without drama.
Say what you may about Obama’s policies, but he has not created any scandals. There was no Iran-Contra affair, no Watergate, no Monica Lewinsky. The first lady also behaved herself impeccably. We call him No-Drama-Obama.
Trump, in contrast, is already mired in scandals and he is not even elected yet. He did business in Cuba violating the embargo. The stiffed thousands of contractors and employees by not paying them. He and his aides have ties to Russia, and the list goes on. Imagine what it would be like if we gave him the keys to Air Force One to tool around the world in to do business deals, pretty much unchecked? We’d join the ranks of the countries in the world led by oligarchs. Congress would have to start impeachment proceedings on day one.
I am already tired of Trump’s drama, and he hasn’t started yet.
I pay federal taxes, about 28%, every year.
I want my president to pay taxes, too.
His lack of humility.
Trump obviously thinks he is hot shit. I, I, I, I permeates his speech. He tells us that he is very rich every chance he gets. I have never met a rich person who actually tells you he is rich. It just does not happen. Only wannabes have to resort to boasting.
Trump also often says things like “Only I can fix this and that.” That’s another indicator of low self-esteem or overblown ego, both of which are not acceptable in a president in my estimation. There are a thousand people in the country how can “fix” it who are eminently more qualified than Trump. They are just not running for president, or they didn’t make it past the circus of the primaries.
Humility Trump does not possess. But our president needs inherent humility to be successful.
I want a president who has the integrity to live up to his promises. Trump has stiffed thousands of small and large businesses. Here is an example where Trump didn’t pay for a $100,000 shipment of pianos. Trump is proud of this. If he were president, I’d be embarrassed about our president.
