Why I Can’t Vote for Trump – Take 12

A man shows his true character when he does not think he is observed.

“As a husband and father, I was offended by the words and actions described by Donald Trump in the eleven-year-old video released yesterday. I do not condone his remarks and cannot defend them,” Pence said in a statement. “I am grateful that he has expressed remorse and apologized to the American people. We pray for his family and look forward to the opportunity he has to show what is in his heart when he goes before the nation tomorrow night.”

I expected that Pence was offended, and I am almost surprised that he is stating it. That poor man has the hardest job in the world right now. How do you deal with this?

He said that Trump has expressed remorse. Seriously? Does anyone believe that Trump can even conceive of a thing like remorse? His recorded statements reveal what kind of man he is. Feigned remorse isn’t changing the man.

It’ll be interesting to see what is in his heart tonight, you have that right, Mr. Pence!

Trump, before apologizing, wrote it off as locker room banter. Sorry, but what I heard was not locker room banter. I have been in locker rooms. Locker room banter is something different than what we heard Trump say.

I heard Trump say loud and clear that he has no regard for the dignity of women, which are 50% of the world’s population. I also heard him say that be believes that since he is a “star” he can do anything he wants.

A man shows his true character when he does not think he is observed. The CEO that picks up a scrap of paper on the way to the elevator. The factory worker that gives a dollar to the panhandler by the red light. All the little things people do when they are not observed show their true character. And there is the rub: Trump didn’t think he was being recorded when he let loose. We saw the man as he is.

We want to make a man like that President of the United States?

Are we all insane?
