The Times They Are A Changing

You have arrived,
When you can go to an event at the White House.
You have arrived,
When you can meet the President of the United States.
But only,
When the President of the United States
Introduces you
Then you have really arrived.

Note that the President of the United States is 20 years younger than Bob Dylan.

Wow, that was quite a performance. I and my family keep track of American idol of all things, and to hear that unsweet performance with a voice like chopped liver, delivered with complete confidence and soul, is a reminder what real idols can do. Of course, if he sang that way when he was a teenager, he probably wouldn’t have caught such fire. But that’s a musician, and he graces even the White House.

  2. Dylan will turn 70 next year. The voice is obviously going. But he is an icon and a legend, the idol of thousands of young artists, and one of the true poets of our time.

This version of the song is haunting. It made a good impression on me when I heard it, but then it keeps rolling through my head, the ticking rhythm of the Bass in between verses. What an artist! And of course, poet as well. I had forgotten that he also wrote the song and lyrics, as well as arranged and sang it. What a man! Sorry about his croaker of a voice.
