I stumbled upon this article about the “pink lake” in the Westgate Park outside of Melbourne, Australia.

Just looking at it, it looks like it would be toxic. But that’s actually not the case. It’s a natural phenomenon. Read this article for more details.
Hi Norbert,
I don’t know how well the following comment will “travel”….ie. whether or not the expression means the same in the U.S. (I hope so–!!)
……soooo, given that the lake’s NOT toxic, it could therefore, be described as being “in the pink”–!! šš Cheers…from Melbourne….Ray
The pink makes me want to visit Australia sometime soon. Never been there. Never even seen the Southern Cross.
Not sure if “in the pink” travels, but it sounds “right.”
We recently drove between Canberra and Adelaide and saw several other salty pink lakes.
I was wondering about that. There can’t just be ONE of those.
I sent this to a friend who collects “hearts”. š
