I travel much more than most people, logging between 30,000 and 100,000 airline miles and spending between 50 and 80 nights in hotels every year. I have learned how to travel, and keep the stress low or non-existent. On every trip I see people who are a nuisance to themselves and to everyone around them. They are the ones that think everything is about them, their comforts and their rights.
We have all seen the couple traveling with five children who refuse to check their luggage. So there are three-year-olds dragging carry-on bags behind them, while both parents have their own carry-ons, the car seats, the diaper bags and the paper bags with gifts. When the airline agents stop them they create a scene. It takes the family a full ten minutes to board, and several trips by the gate agents with all their extra luggage, while everyone else has to stand by and wait – all so they can save their $25 for the bag check.
Today I came across this hilarious Twitter commentary by Elan Gale, the producer of ABC’s The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, and Bachelor Pad, of his run-in with Diana, an airline passenger who apparently thinks she is the only one celebrating Thanksgiving. When her flight is delayed, she makes it clear to everyone on board that her family has traditions and she needs to be in Sacramento to help with a crucial ingredient for the stuffing. She didn’t know she had it coming from Elan, however. After reading his Twitter commentary, you might enjoy his blog post, too.
