An Introvert’s Heaven

Some of us are introverts.

We welcome social distancing. Not having to hug folks when we get together, not having to do small talk at parties or work, not going to crowded events, parties, bars, all the “social places” is making our lives easier.

I am not saying any of this is good – but I don’t mind being relaxed and distanced, and not hurting anyone’s feelings.

Because – some of us are introverts.

  1. Grabbing and hugging my grandchildren is a problem and I dearly miss it. Other than that my wife has always agreed with me that I could have a social gathering of all the people I feel close to in a phone booth. That’s even better now, there are no phone booths.

  2. MARY BARNES

Yes! Ted (husband, psychologist) said it isn’t that introverts don’t like being around people; it’s a matter of which way the energy is flowing. Extroverts suck up energy from the group and are ready to go party afterwards. Introverts pour energy into the group and have to recuperate for a while.

    1. Wow, that’s a great description and I never thought of it that way. That’s exactly how I often feel. I can handle and enjoy the group interaction, but then I need rest.
