Our local San Diego Union has a weekly contest. We see a picture, and we are tasked to come up with the caption. Last week was the two snails below.
I usually draw a complete blank with those. I just don’t have that creative angle. But every week I see the responses, and I think they are hilarious.

Trisha’s line is funniest. And the one above hers about roaming charges is wrong. In Oklahoma, where I grew up, snails are considered a rare invertebrate species. How do they get there? They travel on plants imported into the state. I always thought they were beautiful, adorable, fascinating — until I planted my first garden in Southern California.
