Tonight I embarrassed myself with an outraged article about our House Science Committee and Rep. Lamar Smith, supposedly quoted as saying that he didn’t believe meteors actually existed.

I saw this in an aricle in the New Yorker that seems so far out, I could not believe it. A couple of readers pointed out that it was satire – YOU GOT ME! – and I had not noticed.

I feel better now – and I pulled the anxious post back – lest I embarrass myself for gullibility. That was the most shortlived blog post ever – less than 4 hours.
