New York City – Air Quality Awareness Day

Today as I sat in solid bumper-to-bumper traffic on I-678 South heading toward JFK, there was a sign above the freeway that read:

Air Quality Awareness Day – Use Mass Transit

Ok. If there were decent mass transit that did not require changing of trains in dangerous parts of town, separated by several flights of stairs, turnstyles, escalators, requiring to buy tickets several times, in several train stations, connecting the capital of New York, Albany and the JFK Airport, I would gladly be using mass transit.

As it is, using mass transit for the same trip makes a long three-and-a-half hour car ride into an all-day endeavor, hauling a suitcase and briefcase -THANK YOU VERY MUCH.

I guess I’ll continue polluting.
