After arriving in downtown Manhattan at the Millenium Hilton I looked out the window of my room on the 9th floor and was absolutely overwhelmed by the immensity of the construction site at Ground Zero. The work goes on 24 hours a day and the noise is enormous. Here is a quick picture out the window:
You can see the reflection pools (red arrows) on the footprints of the original towers, and the base of One World Trade Center, which, when completed, will be the tallest building in the United States (green arrow). This is now reaching up to 44 stories of a final total of 105.

That building was originally slated to be called “Freedom Tower”.
“One World Trade Center” is a very uninspiring name for what I expect to be a very famous building.
