Movie Review: The Box

A strange movie, one, which I suspect you’re either going to love or hate. I simply couldn’t figure out what I thought about it, and halfway through when it crossed my mind to turn it off, I stuck with it because I wanted to know where it was going, if it was going to get any better, and if there was some sense to the whole thing.

Strange things start happening to ordinary people working for NASA at the Langley Research Center. A couple in financial trouble gets the offer to push the button on the top of the box in the picture above. If they push the button, two things happen:

  1. Somebody in the world dies (no idea who, why, how, etc.)
  2. They will receive a briefcase with a million dollars in cash, tax-free.

Would you push the button? Guess what the couple did?

Afterwards, many bizarre things start to happen, and none of them make much sense to me. I don’t know if this is a science fiction movie. I don’t know if it’s a clever movie. Frankly, I don’t much care.
