In Saudi Arabia, men or women renouncing Islam and converting to another religion are sentenced to death.

Women, who are raped, even gang-raped, are punished by prison, lashes or worse. The crime: Sex outside of marriage. Rape is only recognized as rape if there are four Muslim men present to witness the rape.

I am not sure if I wanted a man to witness my rape if he stood by without doing anything to prevent the rape in the first place.

Why do we have any respect for countries that perpetrate such insanity upon 50% of their own people – their women and girls?

Yet, here is our president, bowing to the Saudi king. The spin later said he was not bowing, he was grasping both hands of the king.

Why was he grasping both hands?

Why was he there in the first place to tacitly condone the medieval practices of a corrupt state?
