Offensive and Disgraceful Presidential Candidates

The third debate was the worst of all.

The candidates didn’t stick to the subject of foreign policy. What they said was insipid, lacking depth and attracting ridicule.

Romney has no clue. He is not a diplomat, and he will never be one. He is a religious knucklehead merchant. He belongs in a bazar. He has no class and no depth. There was not a statement of substance I can remember. His arguments were schoolgirl-like assaults on the president. If the president says that Iran won’t have nuclear weapons, stop with the silly argument that we’re four years closer to Iran having a nuclear weapon. It’s the same as saying “you are almost pregnant.” His arguments were also repetitive to the point of being nauseating.

For a presidential candidate to sit on national TV, with a worldwide audience, stating that he wants “to kill bad guys” might be acceptable in a movie, but not in real life. Every world leader watched this debate, and every world leader would have lost respect for this clown. He just undermined his own credibility as a diplomat and in the event he gets a chance to be president, he won’t be taken seriously.

Obama allowed himself to be sucked into this childish game. While he is more of a statesman than Romney, since he’s had four years of practice, he played along diverging to the vacuous arguments about taxes and the economy. Half an hour of this debate was verbatim rehashing of the same trite statements of the last debates. I could have recited them from memory myself. It was a waste of time. Rather than talking about empty soundbites and each other’s false statements, they could have engaged in a dialog about Europe’s economy, socialism in the world, Russia, China (other than finger-pointing), India, Brazil and Mexico, our relationships with those continents and states and the challenges we have with each of them.

But we got Iran centrifuges ad nauseam.

Finally, it’s not okay for a sitting United States president to brag about killing people on worldwide TV. That brings us down to the level of the terrorists themselves.

It was a disgrace.

Neither candidate won.

Now who can I vote for and feel proud?
