The 4444th Post in this Blog

This post is my 4444th post in this blog.

I am not into numerology, and round numbers are just numbers.

It’s just that recently I was curious how many there were so I programmed a widget that displays the number of post in the right sidebar. That’s how I noticed.

So I thought I’d give myself 4 stars for 4444 blog posts.

It’s going to be a while before it’s 5000, but I can aim, can’t I?

A nice consistent number. A few months ago my partner John had spent 4,000 days painting year-round en plein air in the woods. He told me and said, “It’s an accomplishment of sorts, I guess.” His British humour re “accomplishments”.

Numbers do add up. In the late 70s, I kept track (over 5 years) of all the potholders I made and sold. 25,000 @ $2 each. (I could make one in 4 minutes.) I told John, then said, “If I have to make another one, I will throw up.” It reminds me of the question, “How do you eat an elephant?” — One bite at a time.

25000 pot holders???? Geez! Also, 4,000 days painting (plein air) – where they consecutive days, or total days. There must have been adverse conditions in Canada over all those years. His work must be superb with all that practice!

4,000 days over 18 years. Yes, he is VERY good. But always says, as he walks out the door, “Today I’m just gonna do the GOOD ones.” (When I told my sister a year ago that John paints 1-3 a day, but may throw out one of them because it’s not good enough, she said, “Why doesn’t he just do the good ones?” Why indeed!? thought John, very amused by this.
