Napoleon on Religion

I do not see in religion the mystery of the incarnation so much as the mystery of the social order. It introduces into the thought of heaven an idea of equalization, which saves the rich from being massacred by the poor.

In English: Religion is what keeps the poor from murdering the rich.

  1. Religion — the gift that keeps on giving ridiculous hope, controlling fear of hell. A really brilliant ideology that will never, ever die. But seems to be weakening! The “thoughts and prayers” silliness is now seen for what it is — nothing.

Evangelicals have lost the moral high ground. Atheism is the new Gay — I suspect there are millions in the closet, afraid to lose their “tribe” if they admit it.

Free yourselves, people. I dare you to think for yourself.
