Getting Shot in America

You Can Get Shot While Unarmed and Surrendering

Michael Brown was an unarmed black 18-year-old boy who was originally stopped for jaywalking. He was shot and killed by Ferguson Police Officer Darren Wilson on August 9, 2014, while he was trying to surrender. He had six bullets in his body, two in his head.

He was jaywalking. He was unarmed.

You Can Get Shot While Politely Following a Police Officer’s Instructions

Watch and listen to this, particularly how polite the young man is even after he is shot.

You Don’t Get Shot Jumping Over the White House Fence and Charging into the White House

Omar J. Gonzalez, 42, of Copperas Cove, Texas, jumped the White House fence, armed with a knife, ran across the lawn, entered the White House ran through the entry hall, past the stairs, into the East Room and was finally stopped there.

Why is Michael Brown Dead and Omar Gonzalez Alive?

The Secret Service now says that Gonzalez is a troubled Iraq War veteran who should be in a mental hospital. That’s an excuse to me. They didn’t know who he was when he penetrated the White House security.

I usually don’t advocate shooting, but I must say, I’d have no problem if the Secret Service shot whoever jumps the White House fence.

We seem to have some things backwards in law enforcement in our country.

But maybe if he got out of his car (where is wasn’t wearing a seatbelt) THEN ‘darted’ quickly towards the white house…they would have shot him.
