George Zimmermann was charged with second degree murder in the Trayvon Martin case today. Zimmermann’s new defense attorney, Mark O’Mara appeared on television several times. I saw him on The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell, where he appeared calm, thoughtful and overall impressive. Earlier in the day he supposedly gave his condolences to the Martin family.

His appearance on The Last Word was one of the more impressive performances of a lawyer in a hot case on a talk show I have ever seen. Zimmermann picked a good guy.
